Dance is fleeting, a performance with a beginning and an end, and with his upcoming book “Wild is the wind”, Duijs hopes to transcend this sense of fleetingness, and allow lovers of dance to engage with dance through a new lens. Linger on a photo while you leaf through the book, become part of the dancer’s photo performance. Close the book and become immersed once again a week later.

Who are these dancers so deeply committed to their profession and their craft? Theatre performances are choreographies of moving bodies, the dancers anonymous, almost interchangeable to us as the audience. Duijs’s work allows an intimate portrait of dancers in an improvised performance, surrounded by nature, doing what they love, opening themselves upto a moment of vulnerability.
